Why use visuals to support my
technical arguments?
Studies consistently confirm that visually reinforced presentations are
easier to understand and remember. The complexity, minute scale, and spatial
nature of life science technologies present special conceptual challenges to
audiences. These are obstacles that verbal explanations alone may not
overcome:
“Presenters who used visuals were 43% more
persuasive
than presenters who did not use visuals.”

What are the advantages of using 2D & 3D animations?
Animations offer several major advantages over illustrations and other courtroom
exhibits:
- Increases audience retention
-- a movie is easier to remember than a slide show.
- Provides continuity, avoiding
misinterpretation -- 2D & 3D animation fills in the transitions from
one step to the next, helping ensure that your audience is interpreting the
entire process correctly.
- Conceptual clarity -
2D & 3D animations are ideal for explaining spatial and/or time-dependent
processes, as well as highly technical and detailed technologies. In particular, 3D animations take the guess work out of interpreting complex drawings and morphologies. Objects can be rotated and/or sliced for clarity.
Can an in-house or freelance graphic artist
deliver the same results?
Developing effective technical tutorials that will withstand scrutiny
requires an advanced understanding of complex technologies and multimedia
education -- a foundation that most graphic artists and visual support firms
lack.
BioStudio began life creating the visual tutorials that
accompany leading college biology textbooks (i.e. available to students on
sleeve CD-ROMs or publisher web sites). Our specialty is reducing complex
science into digestible visual narratives, for audiences of all levels and
attention spans -- understandable tutorials that routinely stand up to the
toughest scientific scrutiny. By necessity, our team consists of
accomplished engineers, Ph.D. biologists, multimedia educators, and digital
artists.
This skill and experience also enables us to correctly balance educational
effectiveness with graphic design elements. Promoting successful
communication with your audience is always our first priority. We analyze
the case material, review the relevant literature, and collaborate with your
team to develop an effective visual strategy.
Some of our attorneys are also engineers and
Ph.D. biologists. Don't we already have the expertise you offer?
In addition to a command of the technology, developing successful litigation
animations requires a thorough understanding of multimedia education,
courtroom presentation technologies, and digital production. Our clients
have found that where results mattered, it wasn't practical or efficient to
try to replicate BioStudio's combination of expertise and experience.
Are you able to provide
on-site support?
Yes. Our team is geographically distributed, and we routinely provide
on-site support to clients on a nationwide basis. While we are always
available for in-person meetings, our experience has demonstrated that well
over 90% of litigation animation and still graphics preparation can be
handled efficiently via email, fax, and phone conferencing. Our job is to
offload your team of laborious graphics production tasks while tailoring our
services to your specific needs.
